So it's the middle of winter, and who is literally glued to their couch?
I have to put my hand up and say it is pretty hard to get off the couch...BUT I know what makes me feel better and warmer - that is EXERCISE!
It is true, you have to motivate yourself to get out of the warm little enclosure of your house - BUT once you do, you feel better and wish that you had been doing this all winter.
Why does exercise make you feel better?  Well – first up, exercise makes you warm, that is reason enough for me to get the blood pumping.
It also releases endorphins throughout the body – this gives you that feel good factor, particularly important for those of us suffering from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).  Those are the winter blues where you feel like you’ve lost your spark, and it only gets better once the days are longer and the weather starts improving.  Winter can provide for some stunning days however so it’s worth getting out there, even the dark and stormy days can be pleasurable walking along the river or coastline – it makes you feel alive!
If you find you need a little more motivation to get yourself out there, and perhaps a bit more of a challenge then there are some incredible organised activities perfect for all levels of fitness and requirements.
Whether you are NOR or SOR there is no excuse not to get amongst it, some classes I personally recommend are:
NOR – Kingsley – Revive Health and Fitness – Jasmine operates out of Goodlife Gym in Kingsley and will get your fitness cranking if you get her onboard as your PT
SOR – Victoria Park – Zumba with Luciana – Luci runs an amazing Zumba class twice a week, she is a passionate Latino dancer and this shines through in her classes – you will have some much fun while getting fit
SOR – Fremantle – Bootcamp Actual is run by two ex-military guys from NZ, expect high intensity fun – check out their website where they offer their first three classes for free!
SOR – Wellard – Fearwot Fitness – Jodie runs a few different style classes including Metafit, Pilates Barre and weights circuit, she is amazing and has an exceptional level of personal care with her loyal attendees

Whichever way you go about it, make sure you improve your health and wellbeing by being active, this will improve your mood, relationships, sleep and eating habits as well!
 Get moving today!!!
