Now I can't quite remember where I got this recipe from, it was from a paleo site on facebook somewhere. It is so easy to make and incredibly delicious! Paleo style raw slices are something you should consider a treat, not an everyday addition to your diet. I mean who could really afford to eat these everyday anyhow, they certainly aren't cheap to make!
You need to do the bottom layer first and then the top layer separately afterwards. Bottom: 3/4 C walnuts 3/4 C hazelnuts 1/8 C cacao nibs 14 pitted medjool dates 1/4 C cacao powder 1 T coconut oil Top: 1/3 C cacao powder 1 T almonds 5 pitted medjool dates 3/8 C full fat coconut milk/cream 2 T melted coconut oil 2 T honey (I tried omitting the honey but it's not that nice without it!) In a high powered blender combine all of the ingredients for the bottom layer, when desired consistency is achieved place into a lined small slice tray. Put it in the fridge for about 20 minutes. While the bottom layer is in the fridge prepare the top layer in the blender. I like this layer quite smooth so grind the almonds first. Once this is nice and smooth spread it on top of the bottom layer and refrigerate for around an hour before slicing. So easy and incredibly decadent!
